Nic Askew

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Through the lens of his spellbinding Soul Biographies Human Portrait Series, Poet Film Maker Nic Askew explores the intangible space that exists between people, and wonders if implicit trust and non judgment is simpler and more profoundly important than we might assume. He wonders if the experience of unconditional belonging might be our deepest human need, and if so whether each of us has a part to play in life of another.
Nic is a former Managing Director who took a u-turn to become a filmmaker and a poet. He has spent the last decade exploring and capturing the human soul on film through his Soul Biographies series. He travels the world helping foundations and movements articulate their courageous pathfinding journeys; organizations find and express their soul; and most importantly, human beings express their pain, joy, and much in between.
About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
